Social media played a vital role in promoting this campaign and raising awareness about the effects of excessive social media use on mental health. I planned to create engaging posts that educate young people about the potential dangers of social media and the importance of taking regular breaks from devices. The campaign emphasised the pressures linked to social media, supported by relevant data. To make the message more relatable, I encouraged young people to share their experiences to help raise awareness. Additionally, I utilised social media as a platform to engage key stakeholders, including influential voices in mental health. By collaborating with the wellbeing team at Bath Spa, I encouraged the use of hashtags such as #UnfollowThePressure and #DigitalDetox. This partnership inspired young users to share their reflections after taking a break from social media, discussing whether it was beneficial and their perspectives on social media's influence on mental health. Furthermore, the wellbeing team's expertise and insights were featured prominently in the campaign's informational leaflets, underscoring the importance of digital detox kits and effectively conveying the campaign's core messages. Their involvement was invaluable in advancing this critical initiative and fostering greater awareness about mental wellbeing.
